Daniel Thaiger Burger Truck

By Wilbur Suen

Recently in Bangkok, the food truck scene is getting more popular and today’s introduction is Bangkok’s first food truck, Daniel Thaiger. Over here, they sell American style hamburgers. So if you are tired of Thai food and want something different, why not consider this? They are usually located at Sukhumvit 38 but occasionally at other locations so head to their Facebook Page to check the updates of their location before going down.

But I got to warn you first. Be prepared to queue for at least 30 mins to 1 hour. Yes, they are so popular that the queue is forever there!

This is not the actual queue because after ordering, many would just go over to other stalls in Sukhumvit 38 to fill their stomachs with something light first while waiting for their burger.

Just by walking past the food truck, the smell can just attract you to make an order.

That is Daniel in action!

After 30 minutes of wait, the sky had already turned dark but my burger was still not ready! And the queue is still as long! Luckily I managed to get a seat beside the truck. Oh, they do have some tables and chairs at the side if you intend to dine there.

Finally, at the 45th minute, my burger is here! I ordered their Thaiger burger (139฿), dressed with cheese, high quality beef, tomatoes, grilled onions and Thaiger sauce (their secret Thousand Island sauce).

Do go early if you want to try the burgers. They open at 5:30pm but close once they sell out and it can be as early as 8pm.

I believe he was one of the first one out there doing this. Used to pick up my bicycle and biked across Bangkok to get to his place. Its been a while ago and reading this awesome article reminds me of visiting him again. In the meantime I have seen dozens of copy cats out there who also do very good food!
