Hidden Bangkok: Union Mall

By Wilbur Suen

If you love shopping at The Platinum Fashion Mall, do check out this place – Union Mall. It is popular with local teenagers and young adults who are looking for fashionable yet cheap buys.

Union Mall - Facade

Although not as well known as The Platinum Fashion Mall in Pratunam, it is slowly gaining popularity. In fact, many prefer shopping at Union Mall.

Union Mall - Overview Union Mall - Shops

Shopping at Union Mall is much easier as it’s more spacious, with bigger walkways. Over here, every shop’s clothing is unique and it not seen repeated in other shops.

You get trendy clothes by young designers at low prices. Apparel at these shops may cost more than those at Platinum Mall though.

Union Mall - Shops

There are also lots of shops for the guys!

Union Mall - Shoes

Shoes / Footwear are also in abundance throughout the mall.

Union Mall - MRT Phahon Yothin

Union Mall is located above MRT Phahon Yothin, just a stop away from Chatuchak Weekend Market. I would suggest you to visit  Union Mall on the same day as Chatuchak Weekend Market, to cut down on your travelling time.

If you like cheap clothings, this is another must visit shopping mall in Bangkok!

Terminal 21: Unique themed mall, things are more expensive, not a place for cheap shopping.

Platinum Fashion Mall: Wholesale fashion mall where you can get really cheap buys if you have buy 3 or more. 5 levels of shopping with 2 wings, really hard to shop finish if you really go to every shop.

Union Mall: Something like platinum, lesser stalls, better quality clothings but slight more expensive than platinum. A good alternative if you want something more than platinum

Yes, there are food. There are several thai restaurants but I always see Mookata (BarBQ Plaza) and Korean BBQ full of people.

Probably the only one would be A&W. There are massage shops in Union Mall itself, alternatively, in the Soi beside Union Mall, there’s some local massage shops too.
