Did you know that Pattaya is one of the nearest beach resorts from Bangkok, other than Hua Hin? A 2 hour drive from Bangkok will get you to Pattaya, infamous in the past for its’ nightlife. Pattaya of old might probably be known more for its sex tourism because of the walking street, clubs, go-go bar but now, Pattaya is home to many popular attractions and theme parks which cater to a more family friendly crowd. Check out our list to see what Pattaya has to offer now!
Attractions
#1 Tiffany’s Show Pattaya (ทิฟฟานี โชว์ พัทยา)
Pattaya is famous for its Tiffany’s Show. It’s no surprise since they are Thailand’s original leading cabaret show for over 40 years and it is said that they have one of the most beautiful transvestites around.
We were honoured to be taken to the backstage to see some “behind-the-scenes” action before the actual show.
This show that we watched was special because it’s a different Tiffany’s Show, it was “The World’s First Magic in Fantasy featuring Joe Labero and Tiffany’s Show”. So, aside from the Tiffany’s Show, we got to see magic performances by Joe Labero. Some of the magic performances really got me thinking, “How did he do it?!?”
At the end of the show, everybody will get a chance to take photos with the lead performers and we got ours too!
Tiffany’s Show will be in Singapore this December, on the 24th and 25th during Christmas celebrations! Don’t miss it!

#2 Baan Sukhawadee (บ้านสุขาวดี)
Baan Sukhawadee is made up of several complexes with the owner’s goal in mind – to let visitors discover the Truth of Living, and finally worship several holy images in the buildings such as the Lord Buddha, the Goddess of Mercy, King Taksin the Great and many more.
“Sukhawadee means pureness-happiness-wealth. All the main buildings are in both pink and blue. Pink stands for love and cupid is used as a symbol. There is a saying,“Without love, you will never succeed”. We need to be able to love and be loved and be unified with the group, to be able to discuss and to solve the problems to reach the goal. Blue stands for water. Water is the beginning of many lives. It can adjust its shape to any surrounding. If we can adjust ourselves with all the changes occurring in the world, we will be able to live happily in this society.”
This beautiful view definitely caught my attention and you should also get your feet on the largest carpet of Thailand too and it can be found in the Buddhabaramee Building.

Every part of the building is filled with wooden carved sculptures. The owner’s goal is to use art and culture as a reflection of Ancient Vision of Earth, Ancient Knowledge, and Eastern Philosophy. #9 Cabbages & Condom Restaurant
When we heard that we were going to Cabbages & Condom Restaurant, we had to admit that we felt skeptical because it was a themed restaurant. Being the last dinner in Pattaya, we wanted it to be a delicious meal.
Upon entry, we of course saw several things made with condoms which left us thinking, are we going to have a condom meal? Thankfully there was just a condom salad made from rice rolls.
The other dishes were simply Aroi Mak Mak and every dish was so on point. Look at the amount of food we ordered and you will know how happy we were with the food. Oh, I have to mention that we had the best Coconut here! I was scraping every last bit of the coconut flesh because it was so good!

Shopping
#10 Pattaya Night Shopping
Pattaya Shopping Street stretches for quite a distance near the vicinity of Central Festival Pattaya. You can find the typical items found usually in most Thai night markets.
While the shopping street is more for shopping, Pattaya’s Walking Street caters to a totally different category. If you like pubs, shows, performances, this is the place for you. The vibe is similar to what you get at Phuket or Bangkok’s Patpong district.

Just outside the street, you can find many restaurants, cafes and pubs without having to venture far. Definitely a good place to check out the next time you are looking for somewhere to stay in Pattaya.
Pattaya is no longer the same Pattaya it used to be. Pattaya is now home to many popular attractions and theme parks.
AirAsia now flies direct to Pattaya (U-Tapao) from Singapore, 3 times a week. If you are bored of Bangkok, this is a new destination to explore!
