Located at Baan Silom, 661 Silom is a combined gastro bar and steak house. It is the new steakhouse in town situated in Silom and this place is for those who enjoy the finer things in life! On the first-level is gastro bites bar and DOM PÉRIGNON lounge (first in Southeast Asia) named MEET and a New York-style premium steakhouse labelled MEAT.
What an inviting and beautiful space!
The first level, MEET has a colourful cocktail bar with tables both indoors and outdoor. It is also home to Southeast Asia’s first Dom Perignon Champagne Lounge.
The focus for this post is MEAT which is an elegant fine dining steakhouse. The decor here is inspired by a modern steakhouse – open kitchen, cow hide on the walls, leather furniture.
If you are here for business over steak and wine, they also have private rooms available!
When I looked at the menu, I really couldn’t decide what to choose from. There were different cuts and the menu was extensive, offering other poultry and seafood options for those who don’t take beef. I’m glad that Khun Joakim recommended the specialties to me.
Their best-selling appetiser ”” Burrata, Panzanella and Jamón Ibérico [620฿++]. The fresh mozzarella cream cheese is soft and milky and served with heirloom tomatoes, seasoned croutons, shallots and basils. The cured Iberian ham gave a dash of salt to the dish.
Smoked Salmon [320฿++]. Another popular appetiser which is nicely seasoned and flavoured. Indeed appetising!
The main course! Jack’s Creek Black Angus Rump [950฿++]. This 250g medium-rare steak is juicy, flavourful, smoky and lean. It’s just very nice and tender. The main course comes with a choice of garnishes and sauce and I chose mashed potatoes which was very creamy and smooth together with Béarnaise sauce as recommended.
Steak is their forte, but they also offer a variety of delectable fish and seafood dishes!
Chocolate [320฿++]. It comes with 70.2% Belgium Dark Chocolate, short crust pastry, butterscotch and Kirsh Marinated Cherries. The different flavours and textures burst in my mouth. Chocolate lovers, you got to try this!
At 661 Silom, they have a nice selection of wines and an in house sommelier who can recommend something to go with your meal.
Thank you Khun Ken, Managing Director of Theoxeny PR for inviting me to this food tasting session.
