Japanese sweets and desserts have been creating long queues in shopping centres all over Bangkok and the latest one to join this craze is BAKE Cheese Tart from Hokkaido, Sapporo. Want to join the queue? Head over to EmQuartier or Central World!
BAKE calls themselves “The best cheese tart in your life ever for you”.
The cheese on the tart is made from 3 different types of cream cheese, i.e. Hakodate (mild flavoured), Betsukai (full-bodied) and French (saltish). Their tart pastry is made from cookies, which explains the hard texture.
The price is not cheap though, it costs 80 baht per piece. If you get 6 pieces, it will be placed in a nice box.
You will either love or hate BAKE Cheese Tart. If you like cheese, you will love it, otherwise, you will probably be skipping this. I like the soft and creamy mousse filling but not the over-baked tart. When I bought this, it had already cooled down and was probably not as fresh. I would love to eat it when it’s fresh from the oven, when the tart is still warm. Perhaps that would make me really fall in love with it.
BAKE Cheese Tart started with their first outlet in EmQuartier but have already expanded to their second outlet in Central World on the 7th floor, just outside the cinema.
Outside of Japan, they can currently be found in Bangkok, Hong Kong, Seoul and Singapore.
