Bangkok BTS Skytrain is probably the easiest way to get around Bangkok, avoiding the notorious traffic jams. It may not be as comfortable as flagging a taxi but you definitely will get to your destination on time without having to be stucked in a jam for an hour or more.

There are 3 rail lines in Bangkok, namely – BTS, MRT and Airport Rail Link. All rail lines are well connected at various interchange. However, their fare system are not similar and their fare cards are different too. So you can’t use the BTS (Rabbit Card) on the MRT.

What is the Rabbit Card?

Rabbit Card is a stored value and you can just tap in and out of the stations with convenience without having to purchase the single trip tickets every time. It will be useful for you if you travel a lot by BTS and do not want to waste time. Rabbit Card cost 50 baht (promotional price till 31st December 2014) + 50 baht refundable deposit.

Alternatively, you can purchase a BTS One-Day Pass (120 baht) where it provides you unlimited travel on the BTS Skytrain for the single day.

Or if you think you will take taxi more than BTS, then purchase the single-trip ticket.
