If you like cafe-hopping, you have  to pay attention now. Whenever you mention cafes in Bangkok, most people will automatically relate to places like Thonglor, Ekkamai, Sukhumvit and Siam. But do you know of a place in Bangkok called “Ari / Aree”?

Ari / Aree is now one of Bangkok’s trendiest  neighbourhoods with many cafes sprouting up. This is due to the skyrocketing property prices at places like Thonglor. Getting here is very easy. Just take the BTS and alight at BTS Ari Station. It is along the same BTS line of Victory Monument and Mo Chit (Chatuchak).

In this post, I cover Ari and featured some interesting cafes that you might want to check out. There are some cafes that are not included as I thought these few featured here might be of more interest to you. This post will also be updated frequently whenever new updates come in. Do also look out for individual posts of the cafes which will be progressively up.

While entering Soi Ari, the most prominent building you will see at first glance is Noble Reform Condominium. Sitting below are 2 cafes. A good place to hangout if you are lazy to venture further in.

Casa Lapin X Ari  wifiicon

Casa Lapin is a familiar cafe brand in Bangkok. The design doesn’t differ much from Casa Lapin X 49 as blogged earlier. Over at Ari branch, they have added a proper food menu which is good if you want something more than coffee and desserts.

Panary Cafe

Panary Cafe‘s main attraction is its pancake. And it’s not the typical kind of pancake which most of us are familiar with. It is actually more puffy and it’s called dutch pancakes, with  18 savory and sweet choices to choose from. As pictured is their popular  Caramelised Apple with homemade Vanilla Sauce

[165฿]. Don’t forget to try their  Honey White Chocolate Matcha Latte [115฿] too. This is a  cute and fun place to chill.

One of the newest cafe in this neighbourhood is Porcupine Cafe. This rustic place is filled with white walls and vintage wooden furniture. I tried their Ice Latte and it’s bursting with flavour. They do serve several cakes as well. As this cafe is still at its early stage, more information will be updated  later.

Hor Hidden Cafe  wifiicon

Hor Hidden Cafe, as the name suggests, is indeed hidden as you can’t really see it from the main road. Being hidden also means that this is a quiet place. I like how the place is decorated with different furniture such as leather couches and wooden tables. There is also a very small outdoor garden which I think is nice place to chill if the weather is good.  Their signatures include  Signature Lemon Tart  [110฿],  Tuna Avocado Tartar [225฿] and a recently added item named after AroiMakMak.com – Pad Thai Aroi Mak Mak [245฿].

My Coffee is a cafe with a touch of Korean. A relatively big restaurant, if you have a big group, this is a good choice for you. The popular item here as recommended by many is their drip cafe.

Tokyobike / Laliart Coffee  wifiicon

laliartcoffee-coffee

This cafe is a fusion between a bike shop and a cafe.  Tokyobike, as the name suggests, is an independent bike company started in Tokyo and it has stores in Singapore, UK, Germany and Australia. They are specialised in lightweight bikes that are beautiful. Laliart Coffee is the in-house cafe which serves organic coffee from Northern Thailand.  Laliart’s signature coffee is the Hand-Dripped Coffee [70฿]  and another favourite is Honey Macchiato  [85฿]. The café also features some homemade ice cream and homemade bakeries such as Apple Pie [85฿].
