Casa Lapin x49 is a new hidden cafe in Sukhumvit Soi 49. It’s one of the trendiest hangouts in Bangkok since its opening in May 2013.
Like I mentioned, it is hidden, so it’s really not easy to locate this place. It’s along the very long Sukhumvit Soi 49 and inside Soi Songphinong which is actually just opposite Samitivej Hospital. Look out for this and you should locate the cafe with ease.
Casa Lapin x49 is owned by Surapan Tanta, who is an architect-turned-barista. It is actually his second cafe after Casa Lapin which was opened in 2012 at Thong Lor Art Village, between Soi 17 and 19. For your info, Casa Lapin is a french word which means House of Rabbits.
Be greeted by a very cool and comforting facade.
Inside the cafe, it gives you a very homely feel. It’s just so quiet, relaxing and comfortable. As you will see from the photos, there are several seatings for you.
There are plush and comfy seats on the second level and it is definitely one of the “hot” seats at Casa Lapin x49.
Casa Lapin x49 provides a variety of coffee, both local and international single origin beans. They also serve Drip and French press coffee if you like.
Slowly enjoy a cup of latte and soak into the comfortable atmosphere. You can do some reading or just chill out with your friends.
Do try out their desserts such as cheesecakes and almond croissant, just to name a few.
This is just a perfect combination for a Sunday afternoon.
Do note that there is no parking lots available, hence you will have to park elsewhere if you are driving. Not to worry, there are parking lots nearby the cafe.
