Chiang Rai Clock Tower is one of the destinations you should visit at night. It was built in 2008 to honour His Majesty King Bhumibhol Adulyadej.
The clock tower was designed by Thai artist, Khun Chalermchai Khositpipat, the same person behind the famous White Temple (Wat Rong Khun).
You will get to enjoy the same detailed architectural details found at White Temple.
Stay on for the light show which is only available at 7, 8 and 9pm. Each show will last about 5 to 8 minutes, offering you a spectacle of colours.
While waiting for the light show, you can chill out at some cafes just beside the clock tower. Here are my favourites from my walk around the area.
Yoddoi Coffee & Tea is a small and cosy cafe. I like the coffee here!
If coffee is too boring for you and you want to cuddle some cats, they have a cat cafe right next door.
Bua Loy attracted me at just 20 baht per bowl but when I wanted to order, they told me that it was just sold out!
