Note: This is a Special Feature in Singapore.
If you have been to Bangkok, you will probably find Coffee Stars by Dao very familiar. It is actually known as Coffee Beans by Dao in Thailand. Coffee Stars by Dao is the first foreign outlet to open in 2011, located in Singapore’s Wisma Atria, a shopping centre in Orchard Road.
Coffee Stars by Dao offers a wide array of authentic Thai cuisine and a spread of international desserts, satisfying their customers in every way, be it a main meal or just an indulgent tea break.
The ambience is designed to provide a casual yet elegant, cozy yet trendy, dining experience for all.
Thai Milk Tea (Cha Yen). This is my favourite drink to order whenever I’m in a Thai restaurant.
Chicken & Shrimp Coconut Rillettes & Crispy Rice Crackers. This is definitely a must order! The crispy rice crackers soften a little when you scoop a spoonful of rillettes onto it. It’s so flavourful and the crunch is perfect!
Pomelo Salad with Shrimp. I usually don’t take pomelo due to it’s bitter taste. But I can’t stop eating this refreshing pomelo salad. It’s not bitter and in fact is sweet. With the condiments added onto it, it sorts of enhances the whole dish. A favourite among those present.
Thai Laksa with Crab. It’s different from the Singapore / Penang version. Take a bit of everything (noodle, egg, bitter gourd, bean sprouts, spring onions, salted vegetables) and scoop some laksa sauce and pour over it. Experience all the different flavours bursting in your mouth.
Crispy Shrimp Rolls. Done a little differently from the usual shrimp cakes. It’s still as good with the shrimp flavour in it. Remember to dip it with the sweet sauce provided. It’s excellent to go with the shrimp rolls.
Aromatic Grilled Pork & Sticky Rice.
Stir-fried Glass Noodle in Spicy Soy Bean Paste with Seafood. This is something like thai suki, but in a fried version. Not to my liking, I prefer to normal thai steamboat and dipping it into the suki sauce.
Pasta Green Curry Chicken. This is a heavy dish and you might want to share this. Beware of the spiciness!
Crispy Wonton Pad-Thai Chicken. It’s essentially a Pad Thai with a twist. The noodles are replaced with crispy wontons but retaining the full flavours of Pad Thai. Lot’s of crunch here.
Cakes Galore! Coffee Stars by Dao are also famous for their cakes. You got to try it for yourself. Their cakes are soft and light. The best part is that you won’t feel sick of eating it. You can also come here for Hi-Tea as they are having a Afternoon Tea Set Promotion at $45 from 2pm to 6pm daily.
Pandan Coconut Swiss Roll. This is one of their best selling cake, with coconut pulps hidden in the swiss roll.
Durian Cake. If you like durian, you should try this. It is another favourite cake of mine.
