Many of us know that we can easily make a 2-3 hours drive out to Bangkok to places like Hua Hin, Khao Yai, Pattaya and Kanchanaburi. If you have already conquered all that, you may want to check out Suan Phueng, located in the western part of Ratchaburi Province.
Suan Phueng is still very much hidden and undiscovered and currently visited only by Thai locals. We know that it will be conquered by tourists soon but before that happens, why not make a trip there first? We were invited by Dynasty Travel to explore this part of Hidden Thailand and we are so eager to share with you what we experienced!
What to Explore?
Alpaca Hill
Animal lovers, you won’t want to miss this! It’s Thailand’s first and only alpaca breeding farm! Although it’s called Alpaca Hill, you still get to see many different animals such as Wallabies, Flemish Giants and Rabbits! Families with children, this is such a wonderful place to visit as a family to the kids to see all the cute little animals!
Creek Walking on Pachee River at Nagaya Resort
Creek Walking? What an experience it was because we haven’t heard of such an activity before. We took a walk along Pachee River with water flowing gently past our feet. Along the way, we got to enjoy the beautiful nature at Nagaya Resort!
Isn’t this a beautiful Instagram spot?
At the end of our walk, we were surprised to see benches along the river with high tea beautifully set up by Scenery Vintage Farm! After the 1-hour creek walk, we get to enjoy high tea with beautiful desserts. What a unique experience!
Kayak
Since we are already partially wet, time for more adventure! We headed to Tasana Kayak Resort and had a fun time kayaking down Pachee River.

Once again, throughout the hour journey, we got to enjoy nature and enjoy birds singing. What a good way to destress from the city life!
Tao Hong Tai Ceramics Factory
It sounds like a boring place that doesn’t have much but we were wrong! They have been around for over 60 years and the produce a wide variety of high-quality ceramics.
There are many shapes of animals made from ceramics and also many Instagram worthy spots all around their compound.
Where To Eat?
Volcano Prawn Restaurant (Kung Ob Phu Kow Fai)
Along the way from Bangkok to Suan Pheung, be sure to stop by Volcano Prawn Restaurant at Nakhon Pathom Province! This is a famous restaurant selling volcano prawns! The prawns were pre-grilled and then placed on a plate covered by a volcano-shaped cover and finally lit making the volcano erupt with flames. We love the fresh, plump, juicy and smokey prawns!
Pasutara
Want to eat healthily? Visit Pasutara because everything you get here is natural! They serve fresh and organic meals and as usual, our first thought will be “How can it be delicious?” Thankfully, Pasutara proved us wrong and we enjoyed their dishes!
Pasutara is also known for their lemons and they have over a thousand lemon trees in their farm growing three different kinds of lemons.
German Sausages Suan Pheung
If you don’t feel like eating, we also highly recommend you to pay this restaurant a visit because of the magnificent view.
Yes, they do serve German sausages and they were only barbequed only upon ordering.
We also had German pork leg paired with Erdinger beer. All that paired with beautiful scenery. Can we stay longer?
Where To Stay?
La Toscana Resort
Be transported to Italy with this Tuscany themed resort! The Italian themed buildings surrounded by mountains make us forget that we are still in Thailand!
We were being transported to our rooms because this resort is huge!
What a beautiful sight in the morning!
After exploring Suan Pheung, we recommend you to spend a night at Samut Songkhram province which you will definitely pass by when returning to Bangkok. There are lots to explore here as well!
See the Maeklong Railway Market on board the train!
Most tourists just visit the Maeklong Railway Market but we got to experience sitting the train which will pass by the market!
On board, the local train which will lead us to Maeklong Railway Market and we can see for ourselves what happens when they train passes by the market, right from the train itself! We are so privileged!
Yes, this is the famous sight of Maeklong Railway Market. So the vendors will keep the stuff for the train to pass by and re-display again after the train passes by.
Have lunch at Ranjuan Amphawa
This is a beautiful restaurant serving Thai cuisine and we got to try their signature Grilled River Prawns! Oh, the goodness is in the head of the prawn, so creamily delicious!
Visit Amphawa Floating Market
Amphawa Floating Market is only open on the weekends and it’s one of the most well-loved floating markets by Thai locals. Have a visit and you will understand why!
You get to order the food from the boats and it will be prepared on-site before it is handed over to you to enjoy. When it turns dark, go see some fireflies. It is a popular activity at Amphawa Floating Market!
Don’t head back to Bangkok yet, stay over at Asita Eco Resort!
What a beautiful space! It feels so different from the usual resorts that we had stayed.
In this resort, you are literally surrounded by nature and lush greeneries, definitely, a more favourable place to stay compared to the other offerings such as home-stay at Amphawa Floating Market!
The next morning, visit the first and original floating market – Damnoen Sadauk!
You should definitely visit this market once if you haven’t because this is the original floating market! In one trip, you have managed to visit both Amphawa and Damnoen Sadauk Floating Markets, that an achievement okay!
If you like what you have just read, you can experience the same thing for yourselves!
