DoubleTree by Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok is a popular hotel with many tourists because of its superb location. Located at Soi Ari (Sukhumvit Soi 26), it’s just a stone’s throw away from popular shopping malls such as Emporium and EmQuartier.
Perhaps, more importantly, it’s just 5 minutes away from BTS Phrom Phong station too.
Lots of curves in the lobby area, I like the design!
Over here, they don’t serve you welcome drinks, but you get welcome cookies! It’s their signature chocolate chip cookie.
DoubleTree by Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok differs themselves from Hilton Sukumvit through their theme. Over here, you can see lots of retro paraphernalia around.
At the lobby, you can find old cassette tapes and old radio players too.
There are 177 guest rooms in the hotel and they are spacious with hints of wood around the rooms.
King Deluxe Room
The contemporary colours in the room exudes a comforting yet luxurious feel when you are inside.
The wall between the toilet and room is made of glass, but the wooden door can be slid to ensure privacy.
The beds here are luxuriously comfortable and they call it the “Sweet Dreams” series. Indeed, I really had a hard time waking up for breakfast in the morning.
I like the marble tones in the washroom as it felt so luxurious. Truly the mark of a five star hotel.
The space of the room unfortunately does not allow for a bathtub. If you want a bathtub, do check out the rooms over at their sister property – Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok!
The toiletries you get here are of good quality. Take a look at the brands – Crabtree & Evelyn + Aroma Actives!
This modern sofa sure looks and feels comfortable!
Breakfast @ Dee Lite
Breakfast is served at Dee Lite restaurant on the ground level and you can expect international cuisine here.
Don’t miss out the egg stations, noodle stations and also a signature here – Pattongo (Fried Dough Fritters) statio. It goes very well with the pandan custard (in green).
While writing this, I’m also missing the fresh croissants which I can’t have enough of!
Buffet Dinner @ Dee Lite
I had the opportunity to try out one of Dee Lite’s popular buffet – Seafood and Grill Night!
When I entered, I was surprised to see a crowd even at 7:30pm. But it all made sense when I realised the price was just 950 baht net with a free flow of soft drinks.
You get the popular crabs.
Prawns! This was definitely one of the top favourites because it always had to be refilled. You can have it as it is or grilled.
Another speciality here had to be the sushi or maki. For Singaporeans who love shiok maki at Koh Grill, this was probably something like that but free flow!
Oyster lovers are you reading this?!?
There was a variety of desserts and ice creams too.
If you are looking for an affordable buffet in a hotel, you can consider this!
The swimming pool is considered big here especially in Sukhumvit as many hotels have just a small pool. It is no wonder why the Blast! Pool Party is a hit here.
If you love to be in your swim wear and you love drinking alcohol, you have to check out their monthly pool party. I’m sure you won’t regret the experience.
Your pool experience won’t be complete with just a sun-tan and books. You probably need to complete it with some cocktails.
There’s also a 24hr gym right at the end of the poolside.
You will be guaranteed of a beautiful sleep with sweet dreams at DoubleTree by Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok! Now, I really wish to jump on this bed. Sadly, it’s just a picture now.
