There are many Holiday Inn hotels in Bangkok and the new one which opened this year in March 2013 is Holiday Inn Bangkok Sukhumvit 22. As the name suggests, it is located in Sukhumvit Soi 22, just beside the main road.
They are also conveniently located in the middle of BTS Asoke and Phrom Phong station.
A simple and small lobby.
I did not get them to pose for my camera. It just so happened that all of them were busy on their screens.
The hallway leading to the rooms.
I stayed in Deluxe King Room. The design of the room is modern and contemporary and the design is standardised throughout the hotel.
The design might be very common for many but it’s ok for me. I am comfortable staying in a modern and clean room.
The working table is big enough (extended table by the side) for me to do my work and what I love is the powerpoint as it supports the plugs from Singapore. I don’t have to use the travel adapter.
The minibar and refrigerator.
Even iron and ironing boards are provided.
What a comfortable soft bed with soft pillows! I feel like jumping and lying on the bed now as I’m typing this.
In fact, I wanted to wake up at 6am to go for breakfast, but the bed was too comfortable and I really could not bring myself to wake up!
You get to choose the pillow you prefer, soft or firm.
The view of Sukhumvit Road from the room. I can see if there is a traffic jam and decide on my mode of transport, before I leave my room.
The swimming pool is located just outside the hotel’s restaurant, Zeta Cafe. You can even dine with a pool view!
The gym, facing the greenery. Good especially when there are so little trees in Bangkok!
As this is a big hotel, do expect a big crowd for breakfast. If you want to avoid the crowd, perhaps it will be good to go for breakfast early.
A wide selection of pastries. They are freshly made!
Oh, I love the croissants here.
I never miss out the egg station to have my freshly made Ham and Cheese Omelette.
They also serve Thai Noodles with your choice of meats.
A new, modern and contemporary hotel located between BTS Asoke & Phrom Phong stations. Lots of massage parlours near the hotel.
The main road of Sukhumvit is usually congested, so you end up having to walk to BTS stations which is about 15mins away. Come down early for breakfast or else it will be very crowded.
I love the comfortable, modern and clean room, especially the comfy beds and pillows. Somehow, these are my markers for a real holiday. If you like to do foot / thai massage, you will love this place as you can easily find massage parlours without having to venture very far. Selection of breakfast is huge too.
