ISAO Fusion Japanese Sushi Bar needs no introduction by now as it is so popular that almost every Singaporean is heading there. Be prepared to queue if you intend to dine here as this place is also popular with locals. They are closed in the afternoon so there’s no way you can really escape the crowd.

Located in Sukhumvit 31, it’s in between BTS Asoke & Phrom Phong, so the best is to get here by taxi unless you like walking or if you are staying nearby such as at  Holiday Inn Sukhumvit 22.

There are many items here but I will just focus on the definite MUST-ORDER here.

isaobangkok-jackie

Jackie [350฿], the cute caterpillar sushi which everyone who has been here will recognise. What would you find  inside this cute Jackie? Ebi, shrimp tempura, ebiko and avocado  with a bed of delicious sauce!  In Singapore, we have Shiok Maki but in Bangkok, we have Jackie! :)

Sushi Sandwich  [300฿], another best seller here.  There’s no bread here but it’s basically tuna and salmon within the seaweed and rice with a nice crispy exterior made from tempura crust. I liked the extra crunch from this sandwich.

isaobangkok-volcano

Volcano  [250฿], baked scallop with spicy sauce. It does not  look very  appetising but don’t judge it by its looks. Inside the rich and thick sauce are fresh small scallops. This is really addictive because you probably won’t be able to stop at one.

As you can see, the interior is relatively simple. Their focus is really providing you with delicious food that you will return for.
