We were invited by Tourism Authority of Thailand for a 2D1N Health & Wellness Trip to Khao Yai. To many, Khao Yai is a good weekend getaway to chill. But what about health & wellness? We decided to join the trip to explore the unseen side of Khao Yai.
Day 1
#1 – Visit Khao Yai Panorama Farm
Khao Yai Panorama Farm is basically a Mushroom Farm and the focus on the development and cultivation of mushrooms. Upon arrival, we were given a Mushroom Juice to drink. Quite an acquired taste I must say. We then went around the farm to check out the various mushrooms that they grow on site. We even had a try of their lingzhi which is known for its medicinal properties.
Apart from it being a mushroom farm, they also operate a resort and have several cute “mushroom  themed” rooms. If you are a fan of mushrooms, don’t leave without checking out their shop where they sell lots of mushroom-related snacks and products.
#2 Have lunch at Ban Mai Chay Nam Restaurant
Ban Mai Chay Nam is a very popular restaurant in Khao Yai and on weekends, it’s fully packed. They are located beside a river and its surroundings make this place so special and unique. When you arrive, walk into their museum featuring lots of superhero figures and vintage collectables from all over the world.
They serve authentic and delicious Thai food and you will surely be satisfied with the meal here.
After the meal, head over to the suspension bridge for some instagrammable photos!
#3 Visit Khao Yai Farm Village
Khao Yai Farm Village is a place to visit only if you have kids and you want them to go through some activities to learn something new.
They have several courses such as soap making and baking muffins, just to name a few.
#4 Rest & Relax  @ My Ozone Khao Yai & Panacee Wellness Khao Yai
Wow! What a sight! Are we in Khao Yai?
Welcome to MyOzone Khao Yai! We had a tour of their  luxury and wellness resort and it was simply such as amazing experience to see the beautiful Tuscan style castles.
A truly hidden getaway in Khao Yai. Apart from the hotels and villas, a lot of customers here actually come for  Panacee  Wellness Khao Yai to get their wellness treatments done. We tried their  foot massage and it was really good and professional!
Look at these villas!
Such a beautiful place right to just chill and enjoy. We had our  dinner in the restaurant of the resort and then proceeded to rest for the night.
Day  2
#1 Visit the Birder’s Lodge Farmers Market
The Birder’s Lodge Farmer’s Market is open every Friday to Sunday from 10 am and the vendors all bring very different and unique offerings to their stores and you will never know  what treasure you can find here.
You can find lots of organic products straight from the farms in Khao Yai. Oh, we recommend you to have a cone of ice cream before leaving this place.
#2 Have lunch at “Farm to Table” @ Green Oak Bistro
Pick your own vegetables for your salad later. There’s an organic farm within the premises of Escape Khao Yai Hotel and you can pick your prefered vegetables which will be served as your salad during lunch.
We were also taught to make two different sauces to go with our salad.
Here’s our sumptuous lunch at Green Oak Bistro. We must also mention that the video from the restaurant is just gorgeous. We were surrounded by beautiful mountains beside the restaurant.
#3 Buy home some healthy snacks at Sweet & Green Farm
Our last stop before heading back to Bangkok. Sweet & Green is an organic farm and they grow things like tomatoes, corn and bananas, just to name a few. We had a taste of their tomatoes and it was really sweet. Non-vegetables lovers should really try the tomatoes from here to kick-start your healthy journey.
2D1N flew past just like this and we visited lots of establishments selling “healthy” stuff. We even got to eat lots of green for our meals. There are many reasons for visiting Khao Yai and a “health and wellness trip” is definitely feasible with our suggested itinerary. Else, you can also customise your Khao Yai Trip with our Ultimate Khao Yai Guide.
Getting Around
Most of the time, I prefer renting a car because it makes exploring places easier. Especially for Khao Yai, the distance to travel to every different place may take from 15-30 minutes and they are not really located close to each other.
If you don’t intend to rent a car, then you will have these 2 options left. There’s no private hire, taxi or Grab in Khao Yai itself.
- Look for your own driver and car to take you from Bangkok<>Khao Yai
- Book a customised private tour from Klook
