With so many hotel options in Bangkok, it’s challenging to decide where to stay. If you like to be connected to the BTS trains yet don’t want to be directly in the main shopping district of Siam, this hotel is perfect for you – Novotel Ploenchit Bangkok!
Ploenchit is just 2 stations away from Siam and it’s still very convenient to get around. Ploenchit BTS station is right beside the hotel so after exiting the station, you will reach Novotel Ploenchit in less than 1 minute!
There are 370 guests rooms with 5 different room types for you to choose from. That’s quite a lot to choose from right? No worries, we will be telling you the differences of each of the rooms here.
Superior Room
The superior room is the most basic room at 28 square metres and it already offers a very comfortable stay. All room types here feature Novotel’s signature contemporary design. Guests can select whether they want king-sized bed or twin bed.
You get standard Novotel bathroom amenities but if you usually bring your own toiletries, this won’t be a deciding factor.
We know you love rain showers. You will be happy to know that rain showers are available in all room types.
Many hotels seem to be going for the trend of “openness” but sometimes it doesn’t really work well especially when we are travelling with friends. Not to worry if you are shy because every room at Novotel Ploenchit has a blind which can be controlled from the bathroom. Some rooms even have it permanently blinded.
This is one feature which most usually won’t know! You get to choose from 6 different pillow types. Sometimes, the standard pillow might not be our favourite so if you have an alternative preference, you can request for it and enjoy a better night’s sleep.
Deluxe Room
The deluxe room is similar sized as the superior room but you get higher floors therefore enjoying a better city view. Who doesn’t love late check-out? Guests in deluxe rooms can make a request for late check-out till 2pm subject to availability.
Apart from that, you get executive bathroom amenities.
Of course, you get to choose from twin or king-sized beds, depending on who you are travelling with.
Premier Room
For executive members, you get to stay in the Premier room which in fact is a deluxe room on a high floor but with executive benefits.
You also get to enjoy the mini coffee machine where you can make your own coffee at your conveninence.
So you might be wondering, what are the benefits of being an executive member?
You get the following perks:
- Personalized executive check-in at executive lounge
- All day refreshments
- Happy hours from 5-7pm where you can enjoy free flow alcoholic beverages such as beer, wine or cocktails.
Junior Suite
The junior suite is a corner room at 41 square metres. Apart from having a larger room size, there’s also a bathtub in this room type. This will be quite perfect for small families. Guests staying at junior suites will also receive premium lounge benefits.
One-Bedroom Suite
The one-bedroom suite are corner rooms at 80 square metres on high floors featuring a separate living room. The rooms feature three large windows for natural illumination so you get the best view of Ploenchit areas from different angles. The bedroom is equally large and if you like lots of space and want to pamper yourself, then this would be the best option. Guests staying at one bedroom suites will also receive premium lounge benefits.
There are 2 basins in the bathroom.
Facilities
Level 9 is where you can find the “fit” people because this is where you can find the swimming pool and gym.
The swimming pool is an infinity pool which is adequately-sized.
The gym here is quite big and they also have a personal trainer to help you on your exercise needs.
After you are done with your workout, do check out the changing room as there is a sauna and unique ergonomic chairs for you to relax.
THE SQUARE Restaurant
THE SQUARE restaurant on the 8th floor serves breakfast, lunch, dinner. Compared to other hotels, this restaurant is really huge with 170 seats. We also love the modern and bright vibe which is made possible by the floor-to-ceiling glass panels.
Breakfast is from 6am to 1030am but it gets crowded during peak hours so the best time to avoid huge crowds – 6-8am!
Heading out to explore Bangkok?
Novotel Ploenchit is situated in a very good location and you can easily access popular shopping areas conveniently. If you don’t mind walking, you can walk to all the places mentioned below.
7-11
Who doesn’t visit 7-11 when in Bangkok? It’s our favourite places to get snacks / supper and if you didn’t already know, their toasted sandwiches are really awesome. The nearest 7-11 can be accessed by turning left towards Ploenchit BTS station and you can find the 7-11 at Park Ventures Building, in about 3 minutes walk.
Mahatun Plaza (Madam Somtum)
Not everyone likes dining in the hotel and we totally can understand so we are going to share with you another good food option just beside the hotel.
If you like Isaan food, you have to check out Madame Somtum. We eat there frequently and the quality is consistently good. Even our Thai friends love it!
Central Embassy
Yes, Central Embassy is filled with many expensive brands but there are also a good mix such as Open House, which is on the highest level of Central Embassy. It’s a library, co-working space with many F&B options as well.
From Central Embassy, you can easily link up to Central Chidlom and then get on the Ratchaprasong Skywalk. From there, you can go to places like Erawan Shrine, Central World or enter Gaysorn Plaza to get to places like Big C Supermart and Platinum Fashion Mall.
Happy Hours!
For executive benefits, you need to head back to the hotel from 5-7pm to enjoy happy hours at the executive lounge.
You get to have light snacks and enjoy free-flow alcohol such as beer, wine and cocktails.
Dee Lounge Beer Garden
For those who prefer a more chill-out atmosphere, check out Dee Lounge Beer Garden.
You get to enjoy happy hour beer offers from 150 baht, so a pint of beer costs just 75 baht! Apart from drinks, you can also get some light bites such as The Siam Thai Platter and Fried Chicken Wings.
There’s an excellent resident live band so there’s live music to accompany your chill-out session.
What a beautiful view of Ploenchit from Novotel Ploenchit!
Novotel Ploenchit is not a brand new hotel but the hotel’s interior is very well maintained. The beds are comfortable so you get a good night’s rest. Be careful if you are taking a nap because the comfort might just put you in deep sleep as that’s what happened to me.
Ploenchit is so near to places you frequent – Siam, Phrom Phong, Asoke and Thonglor. All these are easily accessible a few BTS stations away. So the next time you are looking to hotels to stay near a BTS station, Novotel Ploenchit is a one you must check out!
