Octave Rooftop Lounge & Bar is the latest Rooftop Bar in Bangkok – in a hotel! It is situated at Bangkok Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit on Sukhumvit Soi 57. It is no longer the latest rooftop bar in Bangkok but if you consider the fact that is located in a hotel, it’s still the latest!
Like many rooftop bars in Bangkok, the entrance is always a grand one since it’s situated in a 5 star hotel.
Every rooftop bar showcases different views and I’m definitely impressed with this one. Being the first rooftop bar in Sukhumvit / Thonglor and also one of the tallest buildings in that area, it definitely stands out.
Thonglor is a “Hi-So” place, popular with youngsters that have higher spending power. There are lots of cafes, pubs and clubs around the area. While most of it is situated on ground level, Octave is situated closer to the sky!
Octave Rooftop Lounge & Bar offers a view of Sukhumvit Road, its BTS Line and a stunning 360° view of the area around the hotel. Stunning because there is no other high-rise building blocking the view.
Octave’s contemporary design is inspired by New York apartment terraces and it spans over 4 different levels. The first level on 45th Floor – Lounge, 46th Floor – The Attic (VIP Room), 47th Floor, The Upper Bar (Balcony like setting) and 48th Floor – The Bar (the place to get 360° stunning views).
The Bar is a open rooftop featuring a circular bar in the middle. Definitely one the best place to just chill out at Octave with it’s unobstructed 360° view. Glass panels at the side enable you to have a better view and brings you closer to the edges.
The view of Sukhumvit and it’s BTS track is one of the best and popular view offered here.
I’m in awe of the view offered here. For now, it’s time to fill my stomach with some Signature Cocktails and Platters!
There are 9 signature cocktails offered. Their drinks are relatively strong and it gives you the extra “kick”. They have rather unique concoctions and here are 5 of them!
Bloom Over The Roof – THB320 (Red Berry Tea Infused Ketel One Vodka, Fresh Mint Leaves, Elderflower Syrup)
This is a unique concoction which is mojito-like but something more flowery. It is sweet but at the same time gives you the “kick”.
Bangkok 57 – THB390 (Saffron Infused Ketel One Vodka, Chandon Brut Sparkling Wine)
Purple Ovation – THB350 (Butterfly Peas & Lemon Infused Tanqueray Gin, Luxardo Maraschino)
Thai Mojito – THB320 (Mekhong Rum, Thai Basil, Lime, Spicy Mango)
Well known Mojito, but done in a Thai style.
Otto Hz – THB350 (Ketel One Vodka, White Wine, Passion Fruit)
For those who want something lighter – increased sweetness and less alcohol, Otto Hz is the one to go for as it gives you the fruity twist.
Don’t worry if you come here on an empty stomach. The signature Asian-style tapas platter – THB1800 for 2 pax (even though for 2 person, is actually just nice for 3 pax). Look at the amount of food! The 3 trays can easily represent appetizer, main course and dessert.
Oysters, King Crab, Foie Gras Terrine, Tuna Tatare
Oh, their Oysters and King Crab is real fresh!
Black Cod, Wagyu Beef Sliders, Corn Fritter, Truffle Mayonnaise
Coco Truffles, Fresh Strawberries with Chocolate Sauce and Vanilla Cream
As always, there will be room for dessert.
After the filling dinner, it’s time to just sit back, relax and enjoy the magnificent scenery with your drinks!
The atmosphere is just superb for chilling out with your clients, spouse, friends and family. Basically, it suits all kinds of occasions. Want a quiet time alone? No problem as well!
There are many well established rooftop bars such as those at The Dome at Lebua. As for me, I prefer going to Octave as it’s less crowded (for now) and has its own style. Not forgetting the unrivaled 360° view!
Experience it for yourself and do make a reservation first before turning up! Octave is definitely a MUST VISIT!

This was an invited media tasting. As always, all reviews and opinions are entirely my own.
