Pad Thai Sala Daeng is easily one of the Best Pad Thai in Bangkok. It may even overtake the ever popular Thip Samai Pad Thai. I have been to Thip Samai many times and the standard of their Pad Thai has been fluctuating. But one thing that will not change about Thipsamai is their Orange Juice!
Pad Thai Sala Daeng is open only in the daytime. It is extremely simple, no frills, with no photos of famous artists, or newspaper cuttings. But they serve extremely delicious Pad Thai.
So where is it?
It is located at Silom, Sala Daeng Soi 2, behind Silom Complex. I will show you the exact directions to get here, right below!
There are no signboards at all. Just a simple facade.
The interior does not look very good as well. It’s a 100-year-old Thai house. If I don’t tell you this place serves good food, I bet you won’t even step in here.
And so, this is Khun Pranee cooking the delicious plate of Pad Thai.
The secret to this delicious Pad Thai is the tamarind sauce which they made themselves. It requires hours of simmering and it’s hard work! It makes the Pad Thai very flavourful and the noodles are cooked to perfection, every strand is soft and delectable.
Directions
Walk into Sala Daeng Soi 2.
Turn right upon seeing Silom Grand Terrace.
Turn left upon seeing this hawker centre.
On the right is Silom Complex.
You can enter via Silom Complex and exit via the back.
You will then see this small lane. Just walk all the way in.
You will see a street stall.
And finally, you will see this! You have reached!
If it’s still complicated, here is a video to assist you.

I’m here right now, it’s really good! In fact it surpass my fav padthai in bkk. Thank you!
Glad that you liked it! :)
Found the place and savoring it now…. Great recommendation
I’ve yet been there but will be trying it out in February next year! Anyway it seems like this shop is just along the alley at the back of Silom Complex, just a stone’s throw away from it’s rear entrance? That means I can effectively get off at BTS Sala Daeng, cut through Silom Complex and that’s it?
Yes, you are right. :)
Sorry, i’m not sure on that. The only way to find out is to call them few days before hand to check.
Since I will be staying in Sukhumvit, can I get off in Silom? Is Sala Daeng nearer or Silom station? Please advise
Hi, there’s no Silom station. You can only alight at Sala Daeng station :)
Just one type. Yes she do have a simple menu on the board.
