Pathumwan Princess Hotel, the famous 5-star luxury hotel connected to MBK Center made good use of the Covid-enforced downtime to undergo a major renovation. The refurbished rooms are now not only spacious, but modern and bright, breathing new life into the property. It’s the perfect location to stay for those who just intend to venture around the Siam area and not go anywhere else.

Rooms

At Pathumwan Princess, there are 455 rooms with different room categories, offering beautiful views of Siam.

Horizon Suite

The slick hallway already gives a fresh first impression of the rejuvenated Pathumwan Princess.

The bathroom is much more spacious than expected, and can be considered the highlight of the room. Of course, it comes with an elegant bathtub.

The room has a wonderful view overlooking Silom and Sathorn.

newpathumwanprincess-waterdispenser

With a commendable initiative to go green, every renovated room in Pathumwan Princess comes equipped with a Stiebel Eltron™ filtered drinking water dispenser to replace the need for plastic/glass water bottles. I am very impressed.

Deluxe Classic

The new Deluxe Classic rooms also feature restful lightly-toned decor highlighting similar artistic depictions of iconic Bangkok landmarks. The entry-level rooms are equally well-equipped and the new colours indeed provide a new level of soothing relaxation and comfort compared to the Pathumwan Princess Hotel I used to stay in before the pandemic.

Facilities

Fitness freaks will love this hotel because it is also home to the largest gym in Bangkok.

The sports facilities at Pathumwan Princess are super impressive. Pathumwan’s famous “Olympic Club” is one of Thailand’s most dynamic fitness centers, boasting a space of 9000 sqm. There are more than 100 workout stations, a large range of exercise classes, rooftop tennis courts, squash courts, a badminton court, as well as jogging tracks and even a basketball half-court!

Dining Options

There are many dining options in Pathumwan Princess itself, including award-winning dining institutions.

Ping’s Thai Teochew Restaurant serves my favourite Fish Maw Soup in Bangkok, made with a rich chicken collagen soup base. Other popular items include Fried Fish Maw and Goose Web Mee Pok! Do note that Ping’s is currently closed temporarily but plan to resume operations soon. Check out their social media platform – IG @pingsrestaurantgroup to see if they have re-opened before you visit.

Kongju is the first Korean restaurant to open in Bangkok and is recognized as Thailand’s Best Korean Restaurant 2016 by Thailand Tatler Magazine. Apart from the BBQ, popular dishes here include “Dak Kang Jeong” Fried Chicken with Fried Garlic and Chili, and “Pa Jeon” Pan Fried Korean Pancake.

For foodies, check out our Soi Chula District Guide video for even more recommendations as it’s just a 5-10min walk from Pathumwan Princess Hotel.

Pathumwan Princess is connected to the popular MBK Center, which also links you to BTS National Stadium. Expect to see a number of changes to MBK Center in 2022, with new restaurants, Don Don Donki (4th outlet in Thailand) and 24-hr eateries on the ground floor.

This will be your perfect choice if you are looking for a luxurious 5-star hotel with direct connection to an iconic shopping mall and a BTS station.
