Centara Grand at Central World is a five-star hotel located within Bangkok’s premier shopping district (in the midst of Siam and Pratunam) and it is also the only fully integrated world-class hotel, convention centre and lifestyle leisure complex in the heart of the city. It is also linked to the BTS Skytrain, making it a very good location.

Ok, this post is not about the hotel, but about the food! Situated at the top levels of the hotel, is both a fine dining restaurant and a rooftop bar.
Red Sky Restaurant is the place for Western Urban Dining offering innovative bistro dishes and wine. Dishes are prepared in traditional ways (i.e. Charcoal Grills) to ensure that diners enjoy the true flavours of the delicious chosen cuts of US Beef and other fine ingredients.
Red Sky is located on the 55th floor and the glass walls at the side gives you a very beautiful view of Bangkok. There is also a two storey glass-walled wine cellar tended by their renowned Wine Angels. The Wine Angels use an electronically controlled hoist to ascend to the heights of the wine cellar to retrieve bottles chosen by customers. There is a huge selection of Martinis and other classic cocktails together with a superb collection of wines.
Inside Red Sky, you are greeted by a posh, dimmed, soothing and quiet ambiance. Great place to have a romantic dinner with your loved ones!

Baked Scallops in their Shell (THB755)
The Baked Scallop is served in a bed of salt in its original form to preserve the freshness. On the outer portion of the shell is a flaky bread crust giving some crunch to this delicacy. When served on the table, the waitress opens the shell, revealing the scallop. It is exceptionally fresh and goes very well with the sauce which is Noilly Prat blended with Provencal Herbs.
It’s time now for the Mains.
Wagyu MS4 Beef Tenderloin with Foie Gras (THB1955)
Wagyu is the beloved beef of many. The wagyu beef is so chewy, juicy and tender. Absolutely delicious! They hit the right spot of tenderness on this. Not too rare and not too well-done. The Foie Gras is also very smooth, lightly crisp on the outside.
This dish is accompanied by Potato Croquette which is so soft and light on the inside but crispy on the outside. Saulteed Cep Mushrooms and Red Wine Sauce throws in more flavor here!
French Duck Confit (THB955)
Again, it may not look beautiful but this duck is good! It has a crispy skin but the meat inside is extremely soft, literally melting in your mouth. It is served with Sarladaise Potatoes, Sauteed Spinach and Cabernet Red Wine Sauce.
Wild Strawberry Gateau (THB295)
Then comes the dessert! There is white chocolate in the strawberry cake, and below it is a layer of biscuit crumbs. The strawberry glazed coating gives the melt in the mouth experience. It is superb. Sweet tooth lovers, this is for you!
And their Passion Fruit Martini to go along!
Red Sky is frequented by both foreigners and locals as they are one of the fine dining restaurants which offers a affordable price range as compared to others.
