Roots Coffee Roasters is a unique boutique coffee roastery and it’s different from the other cafes in Bangkok. It is opened by  Varatt Vichit-Vadakan (Tae), who is the owner of Roast, one of the most popular brunch places in Bangkok.

If you intend to come here for some good coffee, do note that they are open to the public only on Saturdays and Sundays.

At Roots, don’t expect comfy chairs and sofas. It is a relatively small outlet consisting of several seats including some at the bar.

Roots Coffee Roasters - Brewing Coffee

What they do here is brewing quality coffee for those who really know how to appreciate it. As mentioned earlier, they are opened only on weekends, Saturdays and Sundays. On weekdays, they conduct  classes to train coffee baristas.

Don’t leave without having a cup of coffee. You can pick your espresso and brewing method, to your preference.

Roots Coffee Roasters - Pastries

Get some freshly baked pastries to go along with your coffee.

Roots Coffee Roasters - Almond Croissant

These are some of my favourite pastries. Bear Claws (with almond cream) and Morning Bun (Cinnamon).

Over at Roots, you do not have to call any of them for the bill. Because, they use a  honesty box system, where you pay the amount which you deem worth, for the coffee and pastries which you have consumed.
