Sampeng Lane is an Accessories Wholesale Market. They are also known as Soi Wanit 1, a narrow and crammed street. It stretches for about 1 km in Bangkok’s Chinatown. Sampeng Lane is also one of the oldest markets in Bangkok.
If you think that the selection at Platinum Fashion Mall is insufficient for you and that you want to get it at a much cheaper rate, this is the place for you. There are more choices here and definitely cheaper as well (that is when you buy in wholesale quantity).
The market is divided into different sections:
East: Accessories, jewellery, watches, shoes
Centre: Ceramics, lanterns, paper products
West: Fashion and fabrics, Indian bazaar
Be careful when shopping here as there are many motorbikes riding in the narrow lane doing deliveries.
If you’re feeling thirsty, you can get freshly squeezed Pomegranate or Orange Juice to quench your thirst.
This place can get very humid so bring a fan if you are intending to do some serious shopping here!
