There’s a new food trend in Thailand – Seafood in a Bag! It may not be new to Singaporeans but for Thais, it is something new!
I was at Talad Rot Fai Kaset-Nawamin and was hoping to find something similar because I wanted to try how it fared compared to the one I had in Singapore.
I was walking around and found “Seafood U Love“! It was almost full house. Was contemplating whether to enter because of the big portion, but I finally went in.
While waiting for my seafood to arrive, I was given a plastic apron, plastic hand gloves and tissue roll.
Ordered a bottle of coke because the meal is going to be spicy!
So what did I order?
#1 Seafood
I ordered Set A which is 299 baht. It included Shrimp, Baby Octopus and Clams. Other set costs up to 499 baht and you can find other seafood items such as River Prawn, Lobster, New Zealand Mussel and Scallops.
#2 Choice of Sauce
I went with Cajun sauce since it’s the best seller. You have other options such as Garlic Butter, Lemon Pepper and Mix.
#3 Level of Spiciness
There are 4 level for you to choose from. Mild, Medium, Hot, Extra Hot. I went with medium and was almost tearing. And hey, I do take spicy food. So, choose wisely.
Your ready seafood comes in a clear plastic bag which is already well mixed with the sauce and spices. It is poured on a sheet of paper in front of you and you can start indulging.
The seafood was very fresh and the meal was very satisfying. I will definitely be back because it’s that addictive. Perhaps, I will take the mild flavour next time!
