Insadong is the place to go if you want a traditional cultural experience of South Korea! Within Insadong, there’s a place called Ssamziegil which you must check out.
Ssamziegil is a uniquely designed spiral building which is probably the prettiest in Insadong. In a normal building, you usually require escalators or stairs to bring you up to the next level but over here, you can just shop your way up via the sloping floors.
Housed in Ssamziegil are individual shops selling handicrafts and hand made products which are linked to the traditional cultural heritage of South Korea.
Looking down to the beautiful streets of Insadong.
The walkways are all beautifully decorated!
On the top floor is a place where all couples should visit – Wall of Love!
You can’t visit Ssamziegil and not eat the poop bread (똥빵) here. The one I had was filled with chocolate but I guess there could be other variations such as red bean and custard as well.
On the ground floor, there is this shop where you can get your face drawn.
Every corner of Ssamziegil is beautiful. Make sure you check out this place when in Insadong!
