Talay Kata is located in the heart of town at Orchard Central. They serve a fantastic Thai Seafood Buffet at affordable prices.
There is a wide spread of food available for steamboat or mookata but for those of you who are lazy to cook your own food, Talay Kata has a cooked food buffet for you.
The cooked food buffet will be an option made available from the 21st of April 2017 onwards. You can enjoy this from just $10.80++ and you can choose to add on the option of having steamboat from just $8++
Kang Kong Belachan – Beginning with my favourite dish from the cooked food spread! Deep fried vegetables is going to be something I will be looking out for everywhere I go now. This dish comes with sauce by the side which adds more flavour to the fried Kang Kong.
Fried Salted Egg Sotong – This is definitely another favourite for me.
Fried Thai Basil Fish – The fish is not fried to the point where it is hard. The meat is still soft while the skin has a crisp to it. The sauce adds a sweet touch to this dish and overall, I really enjoyed this.
Sambal LaLa  – Definitely a special dish you will not find in your usual steamboat fare.
Shark Fin Soup – Mock Shark Fin Soup to be exact. I am against the killing and eating of sharks but Mock Shark Fin Soup on the other hand, I can never resist. This was definitely the best soup they had at the buffet.
Gai Satay – who does not love Chicken Satay? Do have tissue ready though as the skewers are quite greasy.
Grilled Chicken – Be sure to eat this when it is hot and dip your chicken into the sauce.
Braised Chicken – Personally, this was not to my liking as I found the meat a little dry and overall I found this quite bland. Â Then again, I am not a huge fan braised chicken so maybe I am just being biased. You are going to have to try it for yourself to know for sure.
If you choose to add on the steamboat option or just go to Talay Kata  for the Mookata, here is what you can expect from the spread.
