The Commons became the talk of the town when it opened its doors in February. Located in Thonglor Soi 17, just a minute away from the main street, you will see a big community mall.
“Our intention is to build first a community, then a mall. We want to be Thonglor’s backyard,
a place where you can spend quality time in the neighborhood while being a little closer to nature.”
These are words from the people behind The Commons, who are also behind Roast Cafe and Roots Coffee.
The COMMONS is 4 storey high and despite it being open-air, it’s well-ventilated and not humid, with the mega fans on the top of the building.
Majority come to The Commons to dine but there are also a small group who come here just to take photographs of the beautiful community mall.
Top Yard (Level 3)
Let me start from the top because this is probably the main reason why majority of the crowd come here.
One of Bangkok’s most popular cafe, Roast has shifted from Seenspace 13 to The COMMONS, and they are now located on the highest level.
It’s a nice place to chill out and take some photos. You can also hold your private parties here!
Play Yard (Level 2)
In love with Thonglor and its surroundings, you can see even more here!
It is also home to Absolute You (the largest health & lifestyle brand in Thailand), Little Pea (space for families in the community to connect through multi-sensory play, fun activities and enriching food) and Enginou (high quality educational products that give children the pleasure of playing and the joy of learning at the same time).
Village (Level 1)
On Village level, there are little shops scattered offering sweets and life’s simple treats.
If you are looking for sweets, you can find Jona Waffles (the place to go if you love Waffles), Maygori (specialising in “Kakigori”, the famous dessert from After You), Brix (dessert bar) and Track 17 (beverages, spirits and wines from overseas).
For lifestyle treats, you can find NEX (lifestyle decor products), Treasures (curated vintage fashion selections), Sound City (Mahajak sound, high-end audio products) and Plant House (a famous florist shop).
Market (Level M)
The Market is a section for everything food and drinks. There are 18 stalls for you to choose from!
Remember Roots Coffee Roasters? Their Ekamai branch closed in December.
Roots Coffee can now be found in Market!
There are many other unique eateries which foodies will love –
Holy Moly Pie (gourmet pies), The Lobster Lab (lobsters), The Barrel (wines), The Beer Cap (beers and ciders), Barrio Bonito (mexican cuisine), Meat&Bones (slow cooked meat), Peppina (neapolitan pizza), Egg My God (everything eggs by Baanying), Soul Food (Thai food from the people behind Soul Food Mahanakorn), Xiao Chi (Taiwanese Street Food), Maison Jean Philippe (artisanal bread), Twist (juices), Sri (traditional thai snacks and desserts), Gourmet Gallery (homemade bakery), Eastbound (vietnamese food), Sourced (grocery shop and deli), and Fit Food (healthy food).
With more than 20 new establishments offering a new food experience, you can spend about half a month trying to finish conquering all the food stalls here!
