WOW! That’s the reaction you get on your first time there. The view on top of the building is just jaw-dropping. You are standing of the 64th level! And the golden Dome is just so beautiful. Oh, not forgetting the moment you alight from the taxi and enter the lobby. It’s just so grand. You will be greeted by beautiful ladies when you step onto level 64.
Bangkok is known for its Sky Restaurants and Bars. The Dome is one of the most recognized rooftop bars worldwide since it was featured in the movie The Hangover II.
If you are dressed for shopping along Bangkok streets earlier, I advise you to head back to your hotel to wash up and also dress up. Why? There is a dress code to enter – Smart Casual. No shorts, jeans, t-shirts, sneakers, etc.
The Dome is a generic name for all the restaurants/bars at lebua. Under its wing, there are (just to name a few):
Sirocco – World’s highest al fresco restaurant. Famous for romantic fine dining dinner.
Sky Bar – One of the world’s highest open air bars, overlooking a panoramic view of Bangkok and the Chao Phraya River.
Distil – Indoor and outdoor choices, just chillax comfortably on cushioned seats. If you like oysters, check out their oyster bar.
Take lots of pictures while you are there as it is just so beautiful. Do note that you are not allowed to take any photos on the steps due to safety precautions.
Don’t expect the prices to be cheap here with all the beautiful offerings you will be getting. Definitely, this place will cost much more than other places in Bangkok. But the price is comparable to Singapore’s standard. A Hangovertini here will cost you around S$25+.
Be blown away by the beautiful night scenery comprising of the skyline and Chao Phraya River.
If you are just going for drinks, reservations are not required. However, for dinner at Sirocco, do make a reservation a few days before hand.
Been here and want to try out other Sky Bars? Head on down to Red Sky @ Centara or Vertigo @ Banyan Tree.
